nobody having s ati beta drivers

NOBODY having problems with ATI beta drivers?

Come on I know there are others having issues getting their ATI Vista 2 Beta drivers installed properly, I can't be the only one....
Let's work this out... for me I get this thing in the bottom-right that comes up saying that there was a problem installing the driver (I had numerous other errors beforehand, but after uninstalling and re-installing and deleting various things and moving stuff around its come to this, which seems like a solution should be right around the corner)
I have a radeon 9550, and the driver won't install - other than that, everything seems to be running pretty well for a beta!
Anybody else? What ATI card do you have and what kinds of problems are you running into. Let's figure this out!!

I have an ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 128MB. Beta drivers work great. Actually, the drivers that came with the install worked fine but I installed the those from ATI anyway. I really thought that I might encounter a problem. Laptops can be a bit more specialized in their driver requirements.
Sorry, my ATI graphics card in my Gateway M675 P4 3.40GHz w/HT is working great.

Only problem I'm having with the ATI display adapters is that Device Manager (Mangler) has decided to lose my secondary display adapter (ATI Radeon 9600 series). It shows up if I check the show hidden devices tab, says it is working correctly, but Windows absolutely refuses to put my secondary monitor onto it.....it keeps trying to set it to the primary adapter alongside my main monitor, which is a no-go. I've had to disable second monitor for now. (Vista 32 bit running here)

I'm not having any problems and have had a noticeable boost in performance and smoothness of stuff after installing them. ---------- Mark Dietz PROnetworks <http://www.pro-networks.org>

Running two machines one with X1300 512M the other X600 256M both work fine with the ATI driver except for losing there saved profiles now and again. Usinf Aero with both, installation seamless.

I have a Radeon 9550 also, and both the ATI Vista drivers and the Microsoft ATI drivers do not work. I am getting a code 43 error (device reported a problem) after rebooting. Unfortunately, it is only possible to use the standard VGA driver or the XP drivers, so no Aero :(
I heard that it could be the type of motherboard. I have an ASUS motherboard. I think the problem could lie possibly with the SIS chipset?
Besides that, everything works nicely.

256meg 9600xt - Runs fine with default vista drivers (9600 wddm) with x2 crt's. I couldnt enable tvout however unless I turn off, unplug a crt and boot back up again. From the word go Aero was running by default. Updated to Ati Vista drivers, still cant get tvout working unless I unplug 2nd crt, performance wise, didnt notice a difference between the 2, and Aero works here on either

Hi all. I have a crappy 9200se and it actually works better on Vista (with catalyst etc)than it did with XP (kept crashing) so far I have had no problems. (Until I come out of here and FATE makes my PC melt down for being over confident) Cheers Steve

The right question would be, does anybody got 9550 working with beta drivers? I am not sure yet.

Radeon Mobility X600, 128MB onboard, Gateway notebook, running great with Aero Glass enabled, with either the default driver or the ATI Beta, Win Vista x86. Vista reports this card as only 64MB, but that may be a reading issue. Now the soundcard on the otherhand...

No problems at all, you have to get the ATI Vista drivers from their website and it works perfectly.

The Beta 2 drivers for ATI within Vista and from ATI do not work for example with notebooks from Acer or Fujitsu-Siemens. You have to use XP drivers. I hope, that there will be Omega drivers for Vista soon.

I have a Radeon 9600 Series AGP video card. Off from a fresh install off the DVD Vista loads up MS WDDM drivers. When i go into hardware profile it gives me a Code 37 error. When i load ATI's drivers LDDM for Vista, i get a Code 43. "Jim H" wrote:

ATI 128 AGP card would run fine except it would not play Movie Maker due to lack of proper acceleration..
128 mb NVIDI PCI 5200 works fine..
Could
be some sort of problem with Asus boards..

I have an Radeon all in wonder 9200 , I know it's an older one, but the drivers for the display are fine the rest , IE: tv tuner , won't initialize
So far as I can see there is no support for this card to operate fully, installing the drivers in XP compatibility mode ,doesn't allow the drivers to work with Vista,
Just sharing my experience so far, Perhaps ATI will add drivers later for some of the cards , My MX 4000 from Nvidia does great! It however is not a tv tuner card,

Niv_GwO's configuration: AMD 3000+ 400fsb @ 2.35ghz ,Asus A7V600-X, 1024Mo , watercooling Koolance, power supply tagan 400W, ATI 9800 Pro 256, PCI USB2.0, SBlive!1024, ethernet Card ATI 100mb, Maxtor 200 GigaB Sata , Maxtor 300Giga IDE 16mo
i hope to help you! it's just a solution as another .... (it work for me)
Now the begin : in the device control uninstall your graphic card, and give it driver VGA.
erased AtiXXX.dll or other in the system32 folder and in drivers folder erase all the files in the C:\ATI uninstall all program from ATI CCC.
Now you update you device and give VGA driver for your graphic card. on execut tape MSCONFIG launch "disable UAP" Reboot
Now update manualy your driver and selection the drivers from microsoft corporation WDDM.
i extract the files from ATI and execute C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ati_LH_RC0\Packages\Apps\CCCEX32\setup.exe
Reboot and at the boot i hope for you it will work
Sorry for my bad english... bonjour de France :)

Are you sure it is real 128 MB VRAM and not shared with the RAM?
ATI hide the latter behind the pompous denomination "HyperMemory";-)
see, e.g., the specification of the Sapphire "Radeon X300SE Hypermemory": "128MB version is equipped with 32MB of Onboard VRAM"

Don't worry - Vista gave 96 MB to me;-)
My Radeon 9800 128 MB is shown by Vista as equipped with 256 MB VRAM!
It's a bug of the ATI driver and/or Vista. (But see my earlier posting)
Roy

I had an impossible time trying to get Radeon 9800 PRO to work right.
Then as I tried all kinds of stuff to set up Media Center to work with my Hauppauge WIN-TV card (88x) I kept making it worse and worse until my 3gz P4/2gb ran slower than a snail (my 450mx P3/256mb XP-Pro).
I restored back to an early checkpoint when Aero was still working. It performs pretty well in this condition as long as I don't try to get WIN-TV to work.
Most
recently I tried adding an ATI HDTV Wonder, but it only gets recognized as another WIN-TV card -- even when I pull the WIN-TV card! --- just weird --- so I can't even try to install the HDTV Wonder drivers (which are only XP anyway)
I've been doing this beta stuff a loooonnng time and I can't believe this is such a mess at Beta 2, with corporate target in November and consumer in January.
This is scarier tha WinME
Ah well, I am a retired IT guy and my living no longer depends on making it work.

ATI Radeon 9800 128MB. ATI beta drivers will not install. It gets about half way (Control Center?) and then fails - I don't remember the error message. Repeated serval times, same error. Finally tried manually installing from the setup file in C;\ATI\SUPPORT. These loaded. I could run Control Center. But, all Vista games had corrupted visuals. Default Vista drivers are working fine. Vista games run fine. I successfully ran 3DMark03 with a warning at begining but all tests ran. Results were consistant with what I get in XP.

Do you have access to another video card you can try? I have an Asus A8V with a nVidia FX 5500 and I did not encounter any problems installing Vista.
What about your DVD - is it IDE or SATA? Some systems have a problem installing from a SATA DVD drive.

Well, I've made sme "progress"...
I pulled the Hauppauge Win-TV, uninstalled the drivers, ran ATI HDTV driver installs, then put in the HDTV Wonder --- it got recognized!
I
tried it with ATI Multimedia Center software and the analog tuner worked.
The HDTV tuner didn't exactly --- I could Autoscan to findchannels, but signal strength was being randomly reported in thousands of percent on every channel. It added every one. However, it actually identified reall HD channels by name, but whenever I tried to play one, it would not identify it (onscreen HD digital description with name, format, content) -- always describedit a 480i and showed blank screen.
Then
I put theWin-TV card back in, saw it recognized, installed drivers.
More weirdness: Hauppage WINTV2000 software would only display splash screen and lock up, but ATI TV recognized it as "Unknown Tuner", configed it and can play it!
Finally, I tried Media Center and was back to square one there -- every attempt to touch TV results in a Crash Report.
I wonder what to try next...

I am hoping you can offer some assistance. I have the following system asus a8v deluxe 2 gb ram amd athlon 64 radeon 9600XT All-In-Wonder Maxtor 80gb SATA hard drive Maxtor 60gb SATA hard drive Plextor DVD-rw WinXP professional sp2
I have been trying to install Vista beta 2. the problem occurs during bootup from cd with both 32 and 64 bit vista. The screen resolution is so far off that I am unable to read anything onscreen. I went back into my win xp settings and set resolution to lowest possible setting at 16 color. I saw you have a radeon 9600 xt card and would like to know if you experienced simular problems and how you were able to load vista. Thank you mike W

Hmmm sorry don't think I can help, my 9600xt was fine right through the install, no problems regards resolution at all, only things I can think of to try is unattended vista installation option? (dont know if this even exists yet mind you) update instead of full install? try unplugging everything except for your main monitor (if applicable) and then install -perhaps its getting confused if you got more than 1 monitor plugged in (I know it hates my tv unless I boot from it)
Sorry I cant think of anything else to try as I didnt get any problems personally with the install :-(

Did you try turning off UAC, changing to the standard vga adapter in device

manager, and then installing the ati drivers in safe mode? I didnt have to do this myself but have heard of others doing it to get some cards working with outsourced vista drivers

I have an ATI Radeon 9600 and get the same thing. I have a WINFAST mainboard and a SiS chipset.

ATI X1600 PCI Express 512 MB Card..Will not install with any drivers. Called ATI support and was told NO SUPPORT for Vista.
Anyone figure out how to get this card working? Only thing I can do is set it to standard VGA to get a picture..

I have a radeon 9550pro and a 9800pro cards. I downloaded the newest drivers form ati which at least let my computer recoginze the cards. Not that it matters seeing how I can't play any of my games b/c of a issue with the newest directX that is insatalled with Vista. Could they not design a directX that could run "older" games and the next generation games? WTF

I’m sure its been mentioned here but I went ahead and force installed the XP 9800 pro drivers and walla, everything finally works. The "adaptor information" displays properly im currently playing doom 3 while browsing the web on the other window. Forget the vista drivers, forget the ATi drivers for vista just force install the XP drivers and you will be one happy camper.

I have an HIS x1600xt IceQ as well, and games only show the top 2/3 or the picture. however, my ATI drivers DO stay installed without a problem. have you got the NEWEST ones possible installed? and are they for vista? "Shonge" wrote in message

HIS Hightech X1600XT IceQ here, when I try to install the ATI RC1 drivers, they don't stick. The installation goes fine, everything says they worked, but when I reboot my comp, Vista defaults back to the WDDM drivers.
With the WDDM drivers, I get strange random flickering (not the whole screen just a few random lines towards the top of the display) whenever I start a program that uses the 3D "stuff." Also with the WDDM drivers, 3DMark only dispalys the top 2/3rds of the 3D renders. All the various tests show the FPS/Time/Frame counter at the bottom just fine but the bottom 1/3rd of the actual rendering is nothing but black. When I installed the HIS included XP drivers, the flickering and black bar went away but now I can't use Aero :-(

You know, that issue annoys me to no end. See here, I've got an P4u800-X Asus MB, 1.5 GB RAM and Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9600 Pro card with 256 M memory - and Vista just refused to install it! I got code 43 and no Aero + basic resolutions. No help from Microsoft, ATI drivers are useless and no one can offer a clear answer - is it video card? Is it motherboard? Is it my hyper-threading Prescott P4 3Hz CPU?

Why are you using beta drivers, when the regular drivers are available for download for Vista x86 and x64? http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html I used both those cards with no problem in Vista x86, but have since switched to nvidia. Better colour rendition.
